Breakaway Political Bloc Urges Mass Resistance Against Fictional Lydoran Government
Authorities in the fictional Republic of Lydora have launched an investigation after a hardline political bloc issued a declaration calling for the removal of the national government and encouraging citizens to reject the authority of state institutions.
The organization, known as the Lydoran People’s Alliance, accused the government of corruption, censorship and political repression. In a statement distributed online, the group described the administration as “an illegitimate ruling structure that survives only through coercion.”
“The government has forfeited its right to rule,” the statement said. “Citizens should no longer cooperate with institutions that exist to protect the political elite.”
The organization called for nationwide resistance and urged workers to participate in strikes intended to disrupt normal government operations.
It also encouraged public employees to refuse cooperation with senior officials and asked university students to organize occupations of public spaces.
Several messages associated with the group directly appealed to members of the police and armed forces.
“Officers must stop protecting the ruling establishment and refuse orders that preserve the current regime,” one statement said.
The organization also accused senior ministers, judges and security commanders of being “enemies of the people” and warned that officials who continued supporting the government would face consequences after a change in political power.
Other messages argued that conventional political negotiations had failed.
“The existing system cannot be reformed,” one post said. “It must be dismantled and replaced by a new political order.”
Some statements associated with the group contained explicit rhetoric supporting political confrontation.
“If the government uses force to remain in power, resistance cannot remain passive,” one message said.
The organization also encouraged supporters to create local resistance committees and coordinate demonstrations, strikes and mass acts of civil disobedience.
Authorities said the statements represented a significant escalation from political criticism to organized attempts to undermine state institutions.
The Ministry of Internal Security said investigators were reviewing online accounts linked to the group and examining several threats directed at public officials.
Security was increased around parliament, government ministries, courts and transportation facilities.
Mainstream opposition parties, while continuing to criticize the government, rejected the Lydoran People’s Alliance’s rhetoric and said political change should take place through peaceful and lawful processes.
The Lydoran Human Rights Observatory also warned that political tensions were becoming increasingly dangerous.
The organization said citizens had the right to criticize the government and participate in peaceful demonstrations but added that threats, intimidation and advocacy of political violence could increase the risk of real-world unrest.
Despite the investigation, the Lydoran People’s Alliance released another statement late Wednesday calling for continued resistance until the existing government was replaced.
“The old political structure has reached its end,” the group said. “The population must prepare for a complete political transition.”
Government officials said the investigation remained ongoing.
